Youth Civic Engagement Training

This virtual training teaches students how to navigate the state’s legislative website, encouraging students to participate in multi-generational issues, and discussing how our youth can advocate for fair/equitable change to help our state progress.

The training will focus on understanding the legislative process and creating tangible outcomes through civic engagement. Our focus will be on healthy initiatives that will impact us in our communities.

This training took place on January 11, 2022.

Civic Engagement Training

 

The New Mexico Food & Agriculture Policy Council’s virtual Civic Engagement Training introduces and engages participants in the importance of advocacy and ways to educate and inform policy makers about the issues that are most important to them.

The training provides an introduction to local, state, tribal and national policy in relationship to food and farm systems and healthy communities. It prepares participants for the 2022 New Mexico Legislative session, and include tools that will support participation during the Legislative session and beyond. 

Through an equity lens and with an upstream approaches to engaging policy makers, we will actively involve participants in the 2022 New Mexico Legislative Session finding ways to participate in varying roles and situations.

This training took place on January 13, 2022.
